Voting and Karma:
Instead of likes and hearts, Reddit’s social network runs on upvotes or downvotes. Voting on posts and comments increase or decrease the creator’s karma, and helps popular and relevant posts rise to the top, while filtering out low-quality or irrelevant posts.

While karma doesn't directly impact your ability to use Reddit, more karma can increase posts’ visibility and help you get noticed. Some communities require karma to post or comment, which helps maintain content quality and community standards.

app recently updated. Got stuck in anonymous browsing and couldn't get back into the regular browsing. Uninstalled and lost my main account I've had for several years. App is not good even before this incident. After the recent update you can't see the bottom of the threads because of the invasive UI to "join the conversation". Oh well, not going back. I'd use at your own risk. Very likely lose your account. I found tons of examples of this the past few days but can't open Reddit wo app. Trash

The official Reddit app is the worst mobile browsing experience for its own service. Unfortunately it is now the only option without jumping through a bunch of hoops to get an old version of a third party app to work. It would be nice if the app actually loaded consistently. Then when it does load, it would be great if it wasn't such a hassle to navigate compared to previous options, and if audio actually played on all media.

So bad, so slow, so disgustingly intrusive ads. Reminds me of dial up internet, put in that sound because that's the speed of this app. Even with the api change you couldn't develop a good app, you have a monopoly and suck at it. I switched over to relay and am never coming back. Even with 5g or 600Mbps wifi the pictures take 20 seconds to load, every picture takes at least that much to load, horrible experience
